Midwest Basement Systems to Begin New Construction Helical Project
Posted by Dave in Dealer Updates on April 7, 2009
Midwest Basement Systems was recently awarded a project to install 66 new construction helical piles for a school renovation project in Leon, IA. The piles will be installed to support the new foundations as well as a structural slab. Helical piers were the perfect solution for this project because of limited access adjacent and within the existing building. The project also requires that a load test be conducted to verify the pile capacity and performance (settlement) under load. Tim Heady, owner of Midwest Basement Systems, recently hired a new employee, Mark Rasmusson, to manage his commercial foundation division. Mark’s engineering background and construction experience will be a great asset to Midwest Basement Systems on these types of projects.

Foundation Repair of Western Colorado recently completed an interesting project for the Hotchkiss-Crawford Historical Society. The project involved the installation of the FSI Model 288 Push Pier System to re-level and straighten two historic stone pillars at the entrance to the Delta County Fairgrounds in Hotchkiss, Colorado. The historic pillars were over eight inches out-of-level and Ted’s crew was able to restore the pillars back to their original position. During the lifting process, many on-lookers from the community were present to cheer on the crew at the success of straightening the pillars!

Ray Brown, the Product Installation Manager from Foundation Supportworks, recently traveled to Quality 1st Basement Systems in Perth Amboy, NJ to assist them on a helical pier foundation repair in New Jersey. General Manager, Bob Cherry, sent two of his best foremen out with Ray to work on two different projects. The guys had a great week installing both retrofit and new construction helical piers for the New Jersey homeowner.
Quality 1st owner, Tom Roman, called in to the Foundation Supportworks’ office the next week to say that he was thrilled with the new piering and the support of the company.
